About Nicholas Brace

Nicholas Brace is the dedicated Head Instructor at Schools of Kung Fu Portsmouth, bringing over a decade of martial arts experience to his students. His martial arts journey began in 2008 when he discovered Wing Chun Kung Fu under the guidance of Sifu Alan Paterson, an influential mentor who shaped Nicholas’s approach to teaching and training. Over the years, Nicholas has developed a deep connection with the Schools of Kung Fu UK, maintaining a close link with the headquarters, where he regularly visits to refine his skills and stay current with the latest training methods.

Nicholas’ experience extends beyond his technical expertise. In 2010, he began assisting with kids’ classes, learning how to engage and inspire younger students. His natural leadership abilities soon saw him taking on adult classes as well, building a reputation for his approachable teaching style and commitment to helping every student reach their full potential. After earning his 1st-degree Black Belt in 2012 and his 2nd-degree Black Belt in 2014, Nicholas took on a more prominent role within the Schools of Kung Fu family, leading by example with dedication and passion.

In 2015, Nicholas briefly stepped away from teaching but continued practicing Wing Chun to keep his skills sharp. After returning to the Schools of Kung Fu in 2023, he is now fully focused on running top-tier classes for both kids and adults at the Portsmouth location. His regular visits to the Schools of Kung Fu headquarters ensure that he stays in close contact with Sifu Alan Paterson and the broader Schools of Kung Fu by the IWKA network, ensuring that his students benefit from the latest training techniques and knowledge.
